Adaptive Minds Psychology offers a number of group programs.
Expressions on Interest are currently being sought for two programs:
1. Adult Depression
This program is delivered to adults who are suffering depression.
This 8-week program uses a cognitive behavioural approach for addressing how our feelings, thoughts, and actions are linked. Participants will learn skills to assist in the changing of thoughts and behaviours to improve negative feelings.
2. 'Put your hand up' - a social media and suicide prevention workshop for young people
This workshop aims to educate young people in cyberbullying, suicide and the safe usage of social media (1 hour presentation).
A further workshop includes education, in addition to problem solving skills and techniques based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to assist the young person in coping with such situations (2 hours).
Parenting workshops are also available (1 hour).
All workshops are interactive utilising videos specifically produced for this presentation.
The workshop has been delivered in schools and sports groups on the Gold Coast, to hundreds of young people aged 14-16 years and their parents with outstanding results. Independent surveys have revealed that over 95% students reported that they would change the way they use/interact on social media with over 90% providing positive responses to having a better understanding of youth suicide that would help them into the future!
3. Parenting Groups - 1-2-3 Magic and 1-2-3 Magic for Teens
1-2-3 Magic is an effective discipline program for children aged 2-12. The program runs for three two hoursessions over three weeks.
1-2-3 Magic's program for adolescents is Surviving Your Adolescents, aimed at 13-18 year olds. The program runs for three two hour sessions over three weeks.
